Quando mio papà mi ha messa in sella la prima volta ero troppo piccola per capire cosa stesse succedendo. Nel 2025 ho preso la patente e ho iniziato a guidare il suo Transalp del ’92: una moto che mi ha fatto da scuola e mi ha insegnato che saper mettere le mani alla moto mi piace, forse troppo.

Non so spiegare bene cosa sia la moto per me. Ci ho provato tante volte e finisco sempre lì: la moto è casa e casa non è un luogo, è una sensazione… è quella sensazione che conosci solo se l’hai provata; è il lunedì mattina alle sei e mezza che in sella diventa un po’ meno lunedì; è quella sensazione che ricerchi quando, semplicemente, hai bisogno di sentirti bene.

The first time my dad sat me on a bike I was far too small to understand what was going on. In 2025 I got my licence and started riding his ’92 Transalp: the bike that taught me how, and taught me that I like getting my hands on an engine — maybe too much.

I can’t really explain what riding means to me. I’ve tried many times and I always end up in the same place: the bike is home, and home isn’t a place, it’s a feeling… it’s the feeling you only know if you’ve had it; it’s half past six on a Monday morning, which in the saddle becomes a little less Monday; it’s the feeling you go looking for when you simply need to feel good.

Poi c’è l’altra metà, quella che ho scoperto dopo. Guidare bene solo un po’ è un istinto, ma più di tutto è una cosa che si impara: da chi ne sa più di te, dagli errori, dall’osservazione. Ogni curva fatta meglio della precedente vale quanto un viaggio. È per questo che sono finita in pista, ed è per questo che ci resto.

Se lasci che una passione ti travolga, avrai sempre una vita piena. La mia mi ha travolta, mi ha travolta parecchio.

Then there’s the other half, the one I found later. Riding well is instinct only a little; mostly it’s something you learn — from people who know more than you, from your mistakes, from watching. Every corner taken better than the last is worth as much as a trip. That’s how I ended up on track, and that’s why I stay.

If you let a passion sweep you away, your life will always be full. Mine swept me away — it swept me away hard.
